Searching for the best Botox in Bend?
Juniper is founded and led by Karla Snider Pivik, DO, FAAD, FAOCD, a board-certified dermatologist who studies your face at rest and in motion before choosing the product, placement, and dose. That physician-specialist judgment—paired with authentic FDA-approved product, real patient results, and thoughtful follow-up—is how treatment looks refreshed, never frozen.
Important distinction: injector training is not all equivalent. A course can teach a technique; board-certified dermatology represents medical school, residency, specialty examinations, and years of physician accountability for skin, anatomy, diagnosis, and complications.
Overview
Botox®, Dysport®, Daxxify®, and Xeomin® are FDA-approved wrinkle relaxers that temporarily relax the specific muscles that create frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. The result is smoother skin that still moves naturally.
For patients who want to look rested and unmistakably themselves, Dr. Karla Pivik brings more than a decade of cosmetic-injection experience to softening existing wrinkles and helping slow the development of deeper expression lines. The plan is precise, measured, and designed to preserve what makes your face your own.
Juniper is an independent dermatology practice founded and led by Karla Snider Pivik, DO, FAAD, FAOCD — a board-certified dermatologist with more than a decade of cosmetic-injection experience. Her physician-level expertise in facial anatomy, skin biology, diagnosis, and complication management anchors a more considered standard of care. Patients visit our Bend flagship from across Central Oregon for results that look refreshed rather than overdone.
A closer look
All four are FDA-approved neuromodulators that relax the muscles behind frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet — but they behave a little differently. Botox® is the most studied and predictable, with results that typically last three to four months. Dysport® can spread slightly more, which some injectors prefer for broad areas like the forehead, and it often sets in a touch faster. Xeomin® is a “naked” formulation with no added complexing proteins, which some patients prefer and which may reduce the chance of building resistance over time. Daxxify® is the newest option and tends to last longer for many patients, which can mean fewer visits per year.
There is no single “best” product — the right choice depends on your anatomy, how your muscles move, how long you want results to hold, and your history with treatment. At Juniper Dermatology in Bend, we carry Botox®, Dysport®, Daxxify®, and Xeomin® specifically so the plan can be matched to you rather than to whatever a clinic happens to stock.
Wrinkle relaxers are priced per unit (Botox® and Dysport®) or per treatment (Daxxify®), so your total reflects exactly how many units your face needs — not a fixed package. Two people treating “the forehead” can need very different amounts depending on muscle strength, so a precise quote comes at your visit once your dermatologist has mapped the area.
Because a board-certified dermatologist plans and places every unit, your investment reflects specialist assessment, authentic product, anatomical precision, documentation, and follow-up. Private membership and financing options are available for patients who prefer a structured approach to maintaining their results.
It depends on the area and how strong the underlying muscles are. Frown lines (the “11s”), horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet each have a typical range, and men often need more than women because facial muscles tend to be stronger. Rather than quote a one-size number, your dermatologist assesses your movement in person and doses to soften the lines while preserving natural expression.
Dysport® and Daxxify® are dosed on their own scales, so their unit counts are not directly comparable to Botox® — another reason the product and the dose are chosen together, for you.
Neuromodulators work gradually. Most people notice softening within three to seven days, with the full effect at about two weeks — so the change looks natural rather than sudden. Botox® and Dysport® generally last three to four months; Daxxify® often lasts longer for appropriate patients.
Consistent maintenance can make results look better over time: treating regularly keeps the muscles from re-deepening the same creases, which is why many patients find they need slightly less product as the years go on. Individual results vary.
Neuromodulators have a long, well-established safety record when placed correctly. The variable that most affects both your result and your safety margin is who is holding the syringe. A board-certified dermatologist understands the layered muscles beneath your skin in detail — which is what separates a refreshed look from a heavy brow, a frozen forehead, or an asymmetric result.
At Juniper, every neuromodulator plan is anchored by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Karla Pivik in Bend. If something is not behaving as expected, you have access to a physician specialist who diagnoses and manages skin and facial anatomy every day.
Start with the person, not the promotion or the practice name. Ask who will perform the injections, what professional license and injectable training they hold, who provides medical oversight, whether the product comes through an authorized U.S. source, and what happens if you have a question or an unexpected result. A trustworthy consultation should include your goals, medical history, muscle movement, alternatives, expected timing, risks, and total treatment cost before you decide.
The word dermatology in a business name is not itself a medical credential. A board-certified dermatologist is an MD or DO physician who completed medical school, dermatology residency, and specialty board examinations. Juniper was founded and is led by Karla Snider Pivik, DO, FAAD, FAOCD, a board-certified dermatologist whose skin, facial-anatomy, and complication-management expertise anchors our injectable care.
Look for real, clearly labeled before-and-after photos and a treatment style that matches your preference. At Juniper Dermatology, Botox® and other wrinkle relaxers are part of a whole-skin medical practice rather than a one-product sales menu. That means the plan can include Botox®, Dysport®, Daxxify®, Xeomin®, another treatment, or no treatment when that is the most appropriate answer.
What to expect
There is essentially no downtime. Most patients return to work and normal activities immediately. You may have tiny, temporary bumps at the injection sites that settle within 15-30 minutes, and occasionally a small bruise.
Results appear gradually over several days as the muscle softens - not all at once - so the effect looks natural rather than sudden.
What it treats
The vertical lines between the brows that can read as tired or angry.
Horizontal lines across the forehead that deepen with expression.
Fine lines fanning from the corners of the eyes when you smile.
Platysma bands, fine lines around the mouth, and a subtle lip flip.
Masseter treatment to ease clenching and slim a heavy jawline.
Hyperhidrosis of the underarms and palms — more than a cosmetic fix.
Why patients choose it
Dosing tuned to keep your expressions your own.
A short in-office visit — often about 30 minutes — then back to your day.
Botox®, Dysport®, Daxxify®, and Xeomin® matched to your goals and how long you want results to last.
Started early, neuromodulators can slow deep wrinkles before they form.
Investment & financing
Wrinkle relaxers are typically priced per unit (Botox, Dysport) or per treatment (Daxxify), but value is not measured by the cheapest unit. Your investment reflects specialist assessment, authentic product, deliberate placement, documentation, and follow-up — with a plan designed for your face rather than a one-size package.
Exact pricing is personalized to your plan and confirmed at your visit. We accept major cards and offer CareCredit financing.

Pricing depends on the product, number of units, and areas treated. We review the exact plan and total investment before treatment. Juniper offers Botox®, Dysport®, Daxxify®, and Xeomin® so product choice follows your anatomy and goals rather than a one-brand package. Private membership and financing options are available for patients who want them.
Most patients see results last about 3–4 months with Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®. Daxxify® can last longer for some patients. Results build over about 5–14 days after treatment.
Dr. Pivik plans treatment conservatively and precisely to preserve natural expression. The goal is smoother lines while remaining unmistakably you. Individual response and results vary.
Most patients describe only a quick pinch. Treatment takes just a few minutes and requires no downtime.

They do opposite jobs. Botox®, Dysport®, and Daxxify® relax muscles to soften lines caused by expression (forehead, frown lines, crow's feet). Dermal fillers add volume to restore fullness or smooth static folds. Many patients benefit from a combination, which your dermatologist maps out at your visit.
Yes. Started earlier, neuromodulators can slow the formation of deep expression lines by easing the repetitive muscle movement that etches them in. Your dermatologist can advise whether a light preventative approach makes sense for you.
Most visits take about 10–20 minutes, with no downtime. Many patients come in on a lunch break and return to their day immediately.
Yes. Neuromodulators are also used for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the underarms and palms, for jaw tension and clenching (masseter treatment), and for a subtle lip flip or softening of neck bands. We tailor the plan to your goals.
Stay upright for about four hours, skip strenuous exercise for the rest of the day, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas, and hold off on facials or heat treatments for 24 hours. These simple steps help the product settle exactly where it was placed.
Absolutely. Neuromodulators are one of the most popular treatments among our male patients — dosed to keep a natural, masculine brow and expression. Because men's facial muscles tend to be stronger, dosing is adjusted accordingly by your dermatologist.
Xeomin® is an FDA-approved neuromodulator like Botox®, but it's a purified 'naked' formulation with no added complexing proteins. Some patients prefer it for that reason, and it may lower the chance of developing resistance over time. We offer Botox®, Dysport®, Daxxify®, and Xeomin® so your dermatologist can match the product to you.
There is no single best injector for every face. Look for verified medical training, strong facial-anatomy knowledge, authentic FDA-approved product, clearly labeled before-and-after work, conservative dosing, transparent pricing, and a real follow-up plan. Juniper offers dermatologist-led injectables in Bend with treatment tailored to your anatomy and goals.
No. Dermatologist is a physician credential, not a business-name description. A board-certified dermatologist is an MD or DO who completed medical school, dermatology residency, and specialty board examinations. Ask for the individual injector's name, professional license, training, and the identity and availability of the supervising physician.
